The Valen represents everything we look for in a luxury leather jacket — exceptional materials, understated sophistication, and craftsmanship that improves with age. The Diego Rustic finish develops a patina that is entirely its own, shaped by the wearer and the life lived in it. No two jackets age the same way. Craftsmanship

Made in Los Angeles by a three-generation family leather atelier with over four decades of craft behind every seam. The skin is English domestic lambskin, tanned in Italy — selected for its tight fiber structure, which produces a full-bodied, supple leather. The skin is finished on the suede side and double-dyed, giving it the depth and distressed character that define the Diego finish. Only the top ten percent of world skins qualify. Six to seven skins are hand-matched for color, grain, texture, and thickness before a single cut is made. Every seam is sewn at exactly ten stitches per inch. The entire finished garment is pressed.

The Diego Rustic finish

English domestic lambskin, tanned in Italy, finished on the suede side. The base skin is double-dyed — a lighter base layer first, a darker second dye applied over it — then hand-buffed to achieve the distressed appearance. The result is a grey with warmth, shadow, and natural tonal variation that develops its own patina with wear. This is a leather that gets better the longer you own it. The jacket is finished with smooth Napa leather trim in a warm Rustic tone — a subtle, lustrous contrast to the matte distressed suede of the shell, and the detail that gives the Valen its Diego Rustic name.

Styling

The stand collar and clean zip front work over a heavyweight knit or a slim merino equally well. Wear it to the mountain lodge or a city dinner — the grey reads refined in both. It layers under a shearling coat in deep winter without adding bulk.

Investment quality

English lambskin of this grade — tanned in Italy, hand-finished in Los Angeles — is not available at a lower price point. The Diego Rustic finish cannot be replicated in a factory process; it is hand-applied on each individual skin. At $2,495 this is the jacket you stop replacing.
